Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp
  • 1/4 cup honey 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
  • 4 cloves garlic 1 tsp cornstarch
  • Garnish: 2 green onions sesame seeds, salt/pepper

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Pat shrimp dry and whisk sauce ingredients (honey, garlic, soy, 1 tbsp oil, cornstarch).
  2. Sear shrimp in a hot skillet with the remaining oil for 2–3 mins.
  3. Pour glaze over shrimp and simmer on medium-low for 3–5 mins until thickened.
  4. Garnish with onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

1. Dry the Shrimp: The secret to a good glaze is starting with bone-dry shrimp. 2. Don't Overcook: Remove from heat as soon as they form a "C" shape. 3. The Glaze: The cornstarch is optional but creates that iconic "sticky" texture.
