  • 2 fillets Fresh salmon fillets Choose fillets with skin on for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For coating salmon and greasing the grill.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

  • 1 teaspoon Dill For a classic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest Use for added freshness.
  • 1 tablespoon Maple syrup For sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder For a spicy kick.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey To mix with chili powder for a spicy-sweet flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Teriyaki sauce Brush on at the end so it doesn’t burn.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Choose fresh salmon fillets with skin on and pat them dry.
  2. Lightly oil the fillets and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Heat the grill to medium-high until grill marks appear.
Grilling
  1. Place salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill.
  2. Do not move the salmon for 4-6 minutes.
  3. Flip the salmon gently using a spatula and grill for another 2-4 minutes, depending on thickness.
Serving
  1. Let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
  2. Serve with lemon wedges and your choice of sides.

Notes

For best results, let the salmon sit at room temperature for 10 minutes after seasoning. Experiment with different seasonings and sides to keep the meal exciting.
