Dough Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Plain old all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet dry yeast Can use instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water To activate the yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt For flavor
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Plus extra for greasing
Topping Ingredients
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes Simple, no need to cook
  • 2 cups low-moisture mozzarella cheese Can also use fresh mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup pecorino cheese Optional for enhanced flavor
Optional Garnishes
  • 1 handful fresh basil Adds freshness

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, warm water, salt, and olive oil.
  2. Knead the dough until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm spot until puffy.
Assemble the Pizza
  1. Grease a rectangular shallow pan with olive oil.
  2. Gently stretch the dough to fit the pan's edges.
  3. Spread crushed tomatoes evenly over the dough.
  4. Scatter mozzarella cheese generously on top.
  5. Optionally sprinkle with pecorino cheese.
Bake the Pizza
  1. Preheat the oven to 475-500°F (245-260°C).
  2. Bake the pizza until the cheese is bubbling and edges are crispy.
  3. Slice into big squares and serve immediately.

Notes

Leftovers can be reheated in a hot oven for a crispy texture. For best results, use a metal pan for superior crunch.
