  • 1 cup Butter or coconut oil Use non-dairy if you're dairy-free
  • 1 cup Sugar (white or light brown)
  • 1 cup Cocoa powder Dutch-process or natural
  • 2 large Eggs For vegan option, consider a flaxseed egg
  • 1 ts Vanilla extract Skip if necessary, but it enhances flavor
  • 1 cup Gluten-free flour blend 1-to-1 mix recommended
  • 1 ts Salt Enhances chocolate flavor
  • optional as desired Chocolate chips or nuts Add for extra flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter or coconut oil, then stir in the sugar and cocoa powder until the mixture is glossy.
  3. Crack in the eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition.
  4. Add vanilla extract and gently fold in the gluten-free flour blend and salt until just combined.
  5. Spread the thick batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven until the edges look set but the center remains shiny, approximately 20-25 minutes.
  2. Let the brownies cool in the pan before slicing.

Notes

For a fancier touch, serve with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream. Don't overbake the brownies, or they'll lose their fudgy texture.
