Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz linguine Feel free to substitute with spaghetti or any long pasta.
Shrimp
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh or thoroughly thawed frozen shrimp.
Sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Be careful not to burn the garlic while cooking.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil Coat shrimp in olive oil before cooking.
  • 1 lemon juice and zest Add lemon juice off the heat for best flavor.
  • to taste salt and black pepper Use salt generously in pasta water.
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes Optional, for added heat.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté gently until fragrant, about 1 minute. Do not let it burn.
Cooking
  1. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  2. Once the shrimp are cooked, add the cooked linguine to the skillet along with the reserved pasta water, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  3. Toss everything together and cook for an additional minute until heated through. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, if using.

Notes

Perfect for quick weeknight dinners. This dish pairs well with a green salad and garlic bread. Feel free to adjust the amount of lemon juice based on your taste.
