Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is preferable over jarred.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half for a lighter option.
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated Freshly grated parmesan works best.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Fresh lemon juice adds brightness.
  • 1/4 cup white wine or chicken broth Wine is optional; chicken broth can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 lb pasta (linguine, angel hair, spaghetti, or choice) Good quality pasta enhances the dish.
Seasonings
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For cooking the shrimp.
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.
  • optional red pepper flakes For added heat.

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare all ingredients before starting to cook to avoid overcooking the shrimp.
  2. Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in white wine or chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any bits stuck to the bottom.
  5. Reduce heat to low, stir in heavy cream and grated parmesan. Mix until cheese melts and sauce is smooth.
  6. Return shrimp to the skillet, then add cooked pasta and lemon juice. Toss to combine and heat through.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and additional lemon wedges if desired.
  2. Add a side of garlic bread to soak up the sauce.

Notes

For a variety, consider adding sun-dried tomatoes or adjusting the amount of garlic and lemon according to your taste. Ensure ingredients are fresh for the best flavors.
