Mojito Ingredients
  • 10 leaves Fresh mint leaves Use more than you think for best flavor.
  • 1 lime Lime juice Add zest if desired.
  • 2 oz White rum Avoid spiced rum.
  • 2 oz Coconut cream or coconut milk Cream is thicker; milk makes it lighter.
  • 1 tbsp Simple syrup or sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 4 oz Soda water To top off the drink.
  • 1 cup Ice Essential for cooling the drink.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a glass, muddle fresh mint leaves with sugar or simple syrup to release the flavors.
  2. Add lime juice and muddle gently again.
  3. Pour in white rum and coconut cream (or milk) and stir well.
  4. Fill the glass with ice.
  5. Top off with soda water and stir gently to mix.
  6. For added presentation, rim the glass with toasted shredded coconut.

Notes

Feel free to experiment by substituting rum with gin, or adding frozen berries for a colorful twist. Always adjust sweetness by reducing sugar if desired. Make in a pitcher for easy serving.
