  • 1 tube Crescent roll dough Ready-made kind, can substitute with puff pastry or homemade biscuit dough.
  • 8 oz Cream cheese Full-fat preferred for creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar Brown sugar can be used for deeper flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon Essential for the churro flavor.
  • 1 large Egg Helps the filling set.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Use real or imitation based on availability.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it flat in the baking dish, pinching seams to seal.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, egg, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crescent roll dough.
  6. Top with another layer of crescent roll dough, sealing the edges.
  7. Sprinkle additional cinnamon sugar on top as desired.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden and set.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container; they can last in the fridge for 3-4 days. For best results, reheat under a broiler for a crisp topping. You can also freeze them for longer storage.
