Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing gently.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden but centers are soft.
  3. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for 1-2 hours for puffier cookies. Avoid overmixing to ensure they stay tender.
