  • 3 pieces ripe bananas The riper, the better for moisture and sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter Must use real butter for best results.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Can reduce by 1/4 for less sweetness.
  • 2 pieces eggs Important for adding moisture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Leavening agent for the bread.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Substitute with gluten-free flour if needed.
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to mix in mini chips or use dark chocolate for a twist.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, smash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter and mix well.
  4. Stir in the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, salt, and baking soda.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  2. Bake for 50-60 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick inserted in the center.
  3. Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

To store, wrap in foil or plastic wrap. Keep at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for longer storage. For freezing, slice and wrap tightly. It reheats well in the microwave or toaster oven.
