Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb beef (top round or brisket, sliced thin)
  • 1/4 lb bacon, sliced into strips
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • pinch chili flakes (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Stir together the soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, smoked paprika, and optional chili flakes in a bowl.
  2. Toss the beef and bacon strips in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. Lay out the strips of beef and bacon on the wire rack, ensuring none overlap.
  3. Bake for 3-4 hours, flipping the strips once midway through. Check if they bend without breaking and ensure they aren’t wet.
  4. Allow to cool; the jerky will get chewier as it cools.

Notes

Store in an airtight bag; it lasts up to a week, though it’s often gone in three days. Can also be made in an air fryer on a low-heat setting.
