Preparation
  1. In a sturdy glass, combine blackberries, lime wedges, and sugar.
  2. Using a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon, gently muddle the mixture until the berries burst and release their juices.
  3. Add mint leaves and lightly crush them with your fingers to release the fragrance.
  4. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice.
  5. Pour in the white rum and stir gently or swirl the glass to mix.
  6. Top with club soda until the drink looks fizzy.
  7. Garnish with extra blackberries and a sprig of mint if desired.
