Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter your cake pan generously.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly across the bottom of the pan.
- Arrange the sliced apples in a decorative pattern over the brown sugar.
Making the batter
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the melted butter and granulated sugar.
- Add eggs and mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk until just combined.
Baking
- Spread the batter evenly over the apples.
- Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes, then carefully flip onto a serving plate.
Notes
